When did you begin DJ'ing and what made you start?

I was interested in DJ'ing by seeing my uncle David playing on a set of twin decks at my other uncles wedding! My first play would be at my cousins 30th birthday party at the age of 13. I played the whole night I've even got a photo of me with a Motown record in my hand! lol (see my Facebook)! from then i was hooked! As a bedroom DJ i started around 91/92 and on radio and in clubs around 1999!

What would you say influenced you towards House music?

Listening to the original pirate radio stations around 1989 Centreforce & Sunrise and having my older friends at that time coming back from the raves and telling me all about them! Going to Dance 91 at Pickets Lock changed my life! After going to Ibiza in 94 i started buying house music religiously. It was then that DJing became more appealing to me!

Of the many genres of House, which are your favourite?

Thats a hard one as my sets can incorporate many genres. At the moment i'm into the deep rolling underground variety, but expect to hear anything from Soulful to Jackin to tTech and anything inbetween. Also I will be doing regular Broken Beat specials of which iIhave a great selection

Which artists, producers and tracks stand out for you, both now and from the past?

I'm gonna stick with artists and producers because if I list tracks I could be here forever lol.

From the past I would say House & Garage producers/artists Frankie Knuckles, S-Man (Roger Sanchez), Masters at Work/Kenlou, Jazz N Groove, 95 North, Kerri Chandler, Grant Nelson, MJ Cole, Todd Edwards, 2 As One/United Grooves Collective, Norris Da Boss,Tuff Jam, Ramsey & Fen, to name but a few!

From the Broken Beat Camp Bugz In The Attic, Domu, Afronought ,Inverse Cinematics ,Kay Suzuki,Daz I Kue, Mark De Clive Lowe, Seiji, Atjazz, Jonny Miller, Landslide, Poetiquette, Madslinky/Zed Bias, Hint,Yellowtail,4 Hero, Phil Asher, Soul Parlour and from up to date it would be Dusky Huxley, Jack Dixon, Demarkus Lewis, Martin Dawson (RIP), Ian Pooley, Ross Couch ,Art of Tones, Shur I Kan, Big Red Button, Hector Couto, Rhemi, Trevino, Hauswerks, Detroit Swindle, Doctor House (Hermit) & Daniel Ward, Jamo & Andy Gorge, South Soul Project, Darious Syrossian, Madlar,Chesus, Sek,Kruse & Nuernburg, Bittersuite, Fabian Kamb again this is just to name a few! There are lots of other artists that are on point as well!

Name some highlights or a profound moment in your time as a DJ

Highlights would be joining House Fm Feb 2014! Playing in Holland in 2010 for the Dutch Weekenders (Mc Stretch/Forge bookings) Fordshouse 'BIG' and 'Carry on Sundays' Partys at what was Studio 33 (Hidden) & Waterfront (Canary Wharf) back around 2004/5. Also playing for MC Moose in Herbal in Shoreditch back around 2006.   Sunshine Daze @ Scala in 2005!  Playing at Ministry of Sound for Pussy Galore and playing at Lady T,s Birthday Partys since around 2007 maybe earlier! (Legendary House Partys lol) and having a show on Shine Fm 1999 - 2006 Centreforce 2007 - 2009 and also a show on Rinse FM between 2009 - 2012!

Have you done any production? If not, is it something you aim to do?

Have done one release on vinyl on Padded Cell Records alongside DJ Kenty and a couple of unreleased tracks with Dipper (Allen Moriarty) would love to get in the studio very soon though! any offers hit me up lol!

Going on from that, what are your musical plans for the future?

First and foremost I want to establish my show on House Fm! I'm gonna be releasing more mixes through my soundcloud and I'm gonna work on getting a residency in a club or Bar hopefully by the summertime.  Gonna be working on playing abroad this year also! I want to be doing more production work and I have a few people in mind I want to work with. I will be keeping the listeners clubbers and also myself entertained with dance music of the highest calibre,  but still staying grounded, polite and approachable!  STANDARD PROCEDURE!

As the old saying go
es its nice to be important,  but more important to be NICE!
