When did you begin DJ’ing and what made you start?

I became interested in DJ'ing when I was around 12 years old, in the early 80's & 90's I lived next door to a friend who had an older brother who was an active DJ in the 80's & 90's London rave & pirate radio scene. I used to watch him on the decks at his home and was in aww as I watched him scratch and mix his way through genres like Acid House, & Hardcore and House music. I was also curious as to how he was doing what he was doing, why he needed two turntables, what was he listening to in the headphones ect.

Some years later, probably when I was about 15, my best friend at school who was also into music saved up and bought a set of belt drive Soundlab turntables and a mixer, this is when i started to learn to mix.
I would practice at his house and anywhere else I could until finally getting my own set of Technics turntables at 18.

What would you say influenced you towards House music?

I like lots of different genres of music, from Soul/Rare Groove, Broken Beats, Jungle/Drum & Bass and Garage.
Whilst my music collection hosts all of the aforementioned genres, as a DJ I mainly play House & Techno.
I am drawn to these particular genres due to the depth of sub-genres that exists within them, such as Soulful House, Tech House, Acid House ect, you can find a style of House or Techno music to suit all moods, tastes and occasions. I think its this diversity and endless pool of music has influenced me towards these genres.

Of the many genres of House, which are your favourite?

Thats a hard one, as I love all genres of House. If i had to choose, I would say high energy Tech House.

Name some highlights or a profound moment in your time as a DJ

I have been fortunate over the years to be able to play some for great brands, venues & radio stations across the UK & Europe. Venues such as Egg London, Pasha London, Cargo London, Aquarium, XOYO and various clubs & Bars in Ayia Napa Cyprus.

The Show "Technosis:"

The aim of my show Technosis: is to feature House & Techno music across all of their associated sub-genres, this will include both old and new music. In the "Club Focus" section of my show, I also intend to spotlight any notable tracks and producers that have grabbed my attention during my musical journey. As well as spotlighting tracks and producers, I will also spotlight any significant club nights and venues and try and give you my interpretation of what plays in the clubs.
I will also have guest mixes and interviews from prominent artists within the House & Techno scene.

Hope you enjoy the show.
